im on aFormer President Rawlings has described this year's
general elections as the best ever to be held in Ghana's electoral history and
in Africa.
He also commended Ghanaians who withstood the challenges that
confronted the process forcing the EC to postpone the elections to a second
day.
Mr. Rawlings made these comments when the AU President Yayi
Bonni paid a courtesy call on him following the declaration of election results
on Sunday by the Chairman of the Electoral Commission.
“I am just saying Mr. President [Yayi Boni] that this is the
most serene electoral process I have ever witnessed in this country” the
founder of the ruling NDC said.
He added that “it compares to none on this continent and
possibly around the world. What took place here is as good as anything you
would find in any part of the world and I am saying that the beauty of it is
that it happened not because of any coercive thing”.
President Yayi Boni is expected to visit Nana Addo Dankwa
Akufo-Addo, flagbearer of the NPP to hold talks with hllegations of vote fraud
made by his party.Source:Ghana XYZ
