Nicki Minaj Unveils Lavender Lipstick for MAC Viva Glam

Nicki Minaj has teamed up with MAC once again for a fabulous makeup essential - lavender lipstick. In the wintry cold season, a soft and frosty lip color is a must-have. Minaj creates her second product for the cosmetic brand's Viva Glam collection.

In 2010, the rapper made her beauty debut with a poppy shade of pink lipstick she named "Pink 4 Friday," in honor of her first album, "Pink Friday."

 Last year, Minaj, along with Ricky Martin, became the face of MAC's Viva La Glam, in which she released another pink lip shade called, "Viva Glam Nicki." "This time, Minaj tones down her usual electric shade into a muted and luscious hue.

The limited-edition lipstick is featured in the new ad for the collection. In the ad, the "Starships" rapper floats in a pool of purple and pink lipsticks, wearing a bright yellow retro swimsuit, pink and blue kiss-printed sandals, and a platinum blonde curly wig.

MAC announced the launch via Twitter with the hashtag #LavenderIsTheNewPink. The lavender shade has become quite a hit with the fashion crowd. No longer is lavender only synonymous with fragrance, but with hair dye and makeup too

Other musicians who have lent their vision to the brand include Fergie and Azealia Banks. Banks recently launched a limited-edition deep plum lipstick called "Yung Rapunxel."

 The "212" rapper released her dark purple shade during New York Fashion Week, while the color trend was spotted on the spring 2013 runways.

Minaj's lavender Viva Glam lipstick will be available February 9 at MAC stores nationwide and on MACCosmetics.com.

The trendy new shade makes a great Christmas gift not only for a friend but for also for charities. All proceeds from the product will go toward HIV/AIDS charities.
