Tom Cruise is Honoured with a Certificate of his Irish Ancestry

The research was commissioned by Tourism Ireland on behalf of The Gathering - an initiative to attract the Irish diaspora to visit Ireland through 2013.
Tanaiste and Foreign Affairs Minister Eamon Gilmore presented the star with a framed certificate, which Tom looked delighted to receive.
The actor was presented with a certificate celebrating his Irish
ancestry during a trip to Dublin for the premiere of his new film, Oblivion.
It has been revealed one of his forefathers helped stricken farmers in
the nineteenth century, and prior to that, his bloodline can be traced back to
days of knights in shining armor.
