The art pieces debut in
Los Angeles at the LAB Art Gallery, on Wednesday, and visitors are encouraged
to 'give a respectful rub' on Kim's baby bump for 'good luck and success'.
The statue, which boasts 'lactiferous
breasts' and a 'voluminous' belly, according to the artist's press release was
inspired by Edwards desire to change peoples minds about the female form.
'I was inspired by the beauty of Kim Kardashian and felt quite put-off by the
media’s criticism of her weight gain during pregnancy,' Edwards said on his
website.
Adding: 'Such criticism
should be off limits.'
The artist went on to
explain to Los Angeles Magazine: 'People tend to look at the parts,
like the creases in her armpits, or how she wore a dress that makes her look
like a killer whale.
'I'm stripping it of the
details people get stuck on, so they can see the beauty.'
