CeeLo Green Won't Be Returning to 'The Voice
Just days before the NBC singing competition’s season premiere, Cee Lo Green revealed that he won’t be returning for the following season this fall. Usher is once again filling in for Cee Lo during Season 6, which premieres Feb. 24, but when Season 7 rolls back around, it’ll have to do so without Mr. Green.
“I’m going to continue my relationship with NBC,” Cee Lo told Ellen DeGeneres on Feb. 18 during an interview scheduled to air Feb. 19. “I have a television show development deal with them as well and hopefully some other talk show opportunities for later in the year. But yeah, I’m going to miss The Voice too. So I’m not coming back, guys.”
Seeming somewhat surprised by the revelation, Ellen pressed on, asking, “You’re not coming back at all?”
“I don’t want to wear out my welcome there,” Cee Lo told her. “I have so many other things that I want to do. I haven’t released an album in four years. I’m almost done with my album.”
